He’s baaack! Local hip-hopper EbGb returns

After quite a while away from his native roots, local hip-hop lyricist EbGb, a.k.a. Ernie Bordon, has returned to Southwest Florida, totally eager and pumped up about his homecoming show Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Club Cachet, 2245 Winkler Ave., Fort Myers (277-7662).
“I’m amped. I’m really amped,” EbGb said, eager to hit the SWFL stage. “There’s no place home. I love Florida for everything that it is. The scene is so much better than anywhere else. There’s never been a truer statement than, ‘There’s no place like home.”
During the hip-hop show, two other acts will hit the stage before our very own EbGb. Super Producer Steve Woodz will take the floor first, followed by Wordsworth, whom you may know from MTV’s “Lyricist’s Lounge,” and whom EbGb said has traveled quite some time to do the show.
Even before his big homecoming show next week, EbGb said he’s had lots going on with his music, having been on the road back and forth between Detroit, Boston, here and beyond.
“There’s been a lot going on, a lot going on it’s very positive it’s good craziness,” he said.
Doors to the show open at 9 p.m., and EbGb’s expected to take the stage around 11 p.m. or midnight. It’s $10 to get in and it’s a 18-and-up show.
Also keep on the lookout for this rapping sensation on campus, as he’ll be hitting the grounds of FGCU and Edison to promote the show.
“It’s gonna be a good, positive environment it’ll be the best thing going on anywhere in Florida that night, for sure,” he said. “It’ll be a healthy hip-hop environment.”
