Seagate hearing postponed to Nov. 18
A second reading and hearing in front of the Town of Fort Myers Beach Council on the ordinance and development agreement to allow Seagate Development Group deviations from town code to construct a 17-story residential development at the former Red Coconut RV Park, has been postponed from Nov. 4 to Nov. 18.
Town of Fort Myers Beach Public Information Officer Nicole Berzin said the reason for the postponement was in order to meet state law regarding proper notice for the advertising of the hearing to the public.
The developers received approval from the town council on Monday for a second reading of the ordinance which will allow the construction of 141 condo units on the bay side of Estero Boulevard near Donora Boulevard and Shell Mound Boulevard. On the beach side, the developers are proposing a beach club.
