Fort Myers Beach International Film Festival opens

The 15th annual Fort Myers Beach International Film Festival opened Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony assisted by actor Zack Gottsagen of “The Peanut Butter Falcon.”

The ceremony was held before the showing of the short film “At Last,” which stars Gottsagen and George Lopez. The short film will be replayed Thursday at 5 p.m.

Gottsagen also had a leading role in the film “The Peanut Butter Falcon” with Dakota Johnson, Bruce Dern and Shia LaBeouf.

The week-long festival features more than 130 movies playing at the Beach Theater including features and shorts, and culminates in an awards ceremony on Sunday.
