Fort Myers Beach tour of restaurants, poker run will kick off at Fish-Tale Waterfront Dining

The 18th annual Tapa Hop festival will feature stops at seven Fort Myers Beach restaurants by dozens of folks on trolleys as part of a poker run organized by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce. / File photo

The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce has chosen the date of Sept. 16 for its 18th annual Tapa Hop – a pub crawl currently slated to include seven Beach restaurants – will be taking five trolleys from Fish-Tale Waterfront Dining and Oliver’s Place at Santini Plaza downtown to Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria and off the island to Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille on Fishermans Wharf as well as the Original Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill off Main Street on San Carlos Island.

Other restaurants along the way include Shucker’s and Mango Rita’s. Each restaurant will host the crawlers for approximately 45 minutes.

All of the restaurants will be providing free “tapas” or appetizers for the hop. A cash bar is also available at each location. The social event is being organized by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Raffles will be conducted throughout the evening and sold on each trolley, according to the chamber.

The event includes a poker run – a modified version of poker that will be played through the night, according to the chamber. Poker run sheets can be purchased for $5 a piece, at check in.

There will be a grand prize for the winner. The chamber will be announcing themes for each trolley and will be encouraging those participating to dress according to the themes.

Tickets are $45 when pre-registering, and $50 the day of. The event kicks off at Fish-Tale Waterfront Dining promptly at 3 p.m. Space is limited, so be sure to purchase tickets ahead of time. Tickets can be either picked up in advance from the Chamber of Commerce offices at at 2450 Estero Blvd. or at will-call during check in. The chamber is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

There is a limit of 10 tickets per reservation and friends can arrange to ride the same trolleys together.
