Police seeking information on Fourth of July crash
The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in obtaining information on a truck possibly involved in a hit and run early in the morning on the Fourth of July in Fort Myers Beach.
The crash which occurred off island on San Carlos Boulevard east of Pine Road, was between a sedan and the truck. The collision happened around 4 a.m. when a vehicle being driven westbound on San Carlos Boulevard was struck head-on by the truck which crossed over into the westbound lane, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash resulted in the sedan becoming engulfed in flames. The driver and passenger of the sedan were transported by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries and were released.
The Florida Highway Patrol believes the truck was possibly a black Ford F150 with yellow fog lights. Anyone with information is asked to call Florida Highway Patrol at *347 or Southwest Florida Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
