Swing into Summer
Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce to hold golf tournament June 4
With a thrilling and historic PGA Championship having just wrapped up, the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce has chosen some good timing for those looking to get to work on their golf game with the upcoming “Swing into Summer” tournament at Spring Run Golf Club in Bonita Springs on Friday, June 4. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The golfing event is open to the public. The tournament will be broken into teams of four at a cost of $450. Individuals can enter for $150 and will be assigned to a team. Space is limited.
The price includes a round of 18 holes and a barbecue-style lunch, as well as opportunities to win raffle prizes, giveaways, and purchase $10 Mulligan tickets. Fun will be had at every hole as sponsors entertain golfers with games and prizes. Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers, as well as for the individual who is closest to the pin and the longest drive.
“We’re excited to be able to offer an event again,” Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce President Jacki Liszak said. Liszak said 18 teams have signed up so far. The organization would like to add several more teams to the sporting event. Liszak said the event draws in participants from around the county and outside the county. One of the teams is from Palm Beach.
There will be auctions, including a silent auction. More information on the auctions are available through the chamber’s website at fmbchamberevents.com. The auctions will include items such as hotel stays, tickets to Key West Express, a glass putter and free rounds of golf. “We’re still getting in new stuff every day,” Liszak said.
This event offers an array of sponsorship opportunities, several of which are still available. The sponsorship options, along with more information about registering for the event and the auctions, can be found at fmbchamberevents.com.
Those interested in signing up for the event can also visit the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce office at 2450 Estero Blvd, call the office at (239) 454-7500 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The funds raised will support programming at the chamber.
