For those unable to make it out to Kentucky this weekend, Oliver’s Place will be offering a bit of the action with a Kentucky Derby promotion while showing one of the world’s most famous races.

The Santini Plaza restaurant and sports bar with 30 high-definition televisions will be offering giveaways for its best hat contest in honor of the time-honored hat tradition for horse racing attendees, and gift certificates for those who draw the winning horse’s number out of a hat. There will be no charge to enter the contests.

There will also be drink specials in tandem with a Cinco de Mayo themed party.

“We’re going to try and make a fun day of it,” Oliver’s Place Manager Susan Cousins said. She expects there to be multiple winners of the prizes.

Post time for the Kentucky Derby is 6:50 p.m.

Oliver’s Place is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday.
