Fort Myers Beach Art Association gets early start to spring
"Freedom to Move" spring juried show runs through March 11
While the winter show “Beyond Boundaries” will finish Thursday with hopes of a cold spell being over, the spring juried show “Freedom to Move” will be ushering in a new art season Monday, Feb. 15.
The show, sponsored by Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, will run through March 11.
The “Freedom to Move” show will be joined by The Dannica Walker and Milly Pereira Show in Studio 2. The Studio 2 show opens on Saturday, Feb. 13 and runs through Feb. 25. Walker and Pereira are longtime members of the art assocation.
“They are pretty accomplished,” Fort Myers Beach Art Association Publicity Director Pam Flaherty said. Their show will feature acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings.
“There will be more variety because it’s a shared show,” Flaherty said.
The gallery, which is offering multiple shows, is now open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with limited capacity and masking required. Mini masters continue to be for sale.
Flaherty said the Art Divine show, which preceded the winter juried show, was the “best we’ve ever done” with record sales. Flaherty said the winter juried show has gone “pretty well” with a “fair amount of visitors.”
