Holiday Inn Express opens in Fort Myers Beach
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites opened Friday at Summerlin Square Drive, following about 14 months of construction at an estimated cost of about $10 million.
The 80-room hotel is located adjacent to Gulf Waters RV Resort and Lee Trean Beach Park and Ride, across the street from the Beach Kiwanis Thrift Shop. The property is being managed by Skyline Development – a subsidiary of South Dakota-based Quest Development & Construction.
Dan Quams, director of operations, said business was slow the first weekend but expects improvement as the season picks up in November.
The four-floor hotel features an outdoor pool, patio, fitness center, a two-computer business center, and a laundry room. There is a lobby for breakfast though Quams said currently the hotel is only offering grab-and-go meals. He is unsure of when breakfast may be offered.
Masks are required to be worn inside though outside masks are not required if guests can socially distance.
