Jim Knickle named to fire commission

By Staff | Jun 25, 2020

The Fort Myers Beach Board of Fire Commissioners voted on Wednesday to name Jim Knickle to the seat left vacant by Bob Raymond.

The board chose Knickle over candidates Keran Farrell and Bryan Raymond. Farrell and Raymond were the two original candidates for the seat when the board elected to extend the application period for another month, which brought in Knickle.

All three candidates will be up for election in November for the remainder of the term.

Knickle is a retired police officer who spent his career in Ohio. Knickle said he also helped oversee the 911 system the department worked with. He is currently the president of the Estero Cove Board of Directors.
