By Staff | Apr 30, 2020

At their most recent regular board meeting, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners approved a contract for $632,466.82 with Cella Molnar and Associated for public information and outreach on the Estero Boulevard road project.

This is a supplemental agreement to a $369,535 contract the county awarded the firm in 2017 for public information and outreach for the project.

Deputy County Manager Dave Harner said the contract approved by the commissioners is a “change order to contract with Cella Molnar & Associates for public involvement services for the Estero Boulevard project for segments three through six. The services include project website, coordination of all public and project specific meetings and correspondence, media coordination, and project notifications to business and residents.”

According to a summary of what the firm will be tasked with for its $632,466.82 contract, “the consultant shall provide professional services for the ongoing community outreach program, and will work closely with the county project team to keep the media and public informed throughout the project.”

Messages left for Board of County Commissioners Chairman Brian Hamman and Commissioner Ray Sandelli were not returned.

According to the county, the Estero Boulevard project is expected to be completed in 2021 at an estimated total cost to the county of approximately $82 million.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach also has current contracts totaling approximately $22 million for its water main project, which is being conducted along Estero Boulevard and side streets while the county also does its road work. The town’s project is not covered by the public information efforts of Cella Molnar and Associates.
