Pendergrass would be good choice to follow in Rooney’s footsteps
To the editor:
As the search begins for a replacement to run for Congressman Francis Rooney’s Congressional seat when he retires next year, it’s important that we choose a person who has demonstrated the qualities necessary to fight for what’s right.
This individual, as I see it, should be a respected and admired person who has exhibited honesty, fairness, integrity, and a dedication to the people that he has served in the past. This person must be willing to represent constituents tirelessly with fidelity and determination to make better those things that serve to improve the quality of life in our society.
This would be a special person – and tough to find.
Fortunately, we have that human being here, working in Lee County and ready to bring his expertise, vitality, and piety to this very important position. His name is Cecil Pendergrass.
Currently he’s a Lee County commissioner who served for 25 years as a Fort Myers police officer. He’s a family man, admired and respected throughout Southwest Florida and recognized as being smart, fair, creative, insightful, and extraordinary.
Commissioner Pendergrass is the perfect person for the Congressional job! Commissioner Pendergrass represents a marvelous opportunity for Lee and Collier counties.
