CareerSource launches new online inquiry form
A new online inquiry form has been launched by CareerSource Southwest Florida to provide job seekers with an opportunity to streamline information faster.
CareerSource Southwest Florida Communications Manager Janeth Castrejon said they wanted to provide quicker access to their clients through an online form that gathers basic information about the client. This information will allow specialists to be somewhat prepped with what the client’s needs are before scheduling an appointment and having a personalized meeting with them.
Before the online form, careersourcesouthwestflorida.com/training-opportunities/, a client had to stop by one of the center closest to thems in CareerSource Southwest Florida’s five county area, without an appointment.
Castrejon said they wanted to give tools to their clients, those individuals who are looking for more information on employment and training. With the form, once it is submitted, it gives CareerSource Southwest Florida an opportunity to gather and prepare information for the scheduled appointment.
“It is a more effective way for our client,” she said. “It’s a compass for us to know how we can individually help that person based on their own needs.”
The form includes such information as the preferred CareerSource SWFL location, contact method and time to call, highest level of education completed, whether employed and if financial assistance is requested.
The website also includes a button that will take clients to a list of the highest demanded jobs by occupation, as well as what schools provides the training. Currently accountants and auditors are on the list with 389 annual openings and an entry wage of $20 per hour and an average wage of $32.53.
Castrejon said there is detailed information right there at their fingertips. In addition to wages, the data also includes what schools locally offer the degrees.
“We know what they need. We can sit down and do a career path that includes going back to school and getting training. That is really huge for streamlining the process in less time and get them on board and help them out into that area in education,” Castrejon said.
The new form is just one of the many programs CareerSource SWFL offers. She said when the client finishes their education, or technical certification, they also assist them in finding a job.
“We get them into a career that they have desired. It’s a full plan,” Castrejon said.
In addition, job fairs are held, as well as workshops for completing resumes and interview skills.
“It’s all geared towards how can we help them land that one path, career path that they desire,” she said.
