Patrick’s Day parade set for March 17
The 20th annual Town of Fort Myers Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held Saturday, March 17.
There will be no changes to the parade as it has been held in the past.
Parade entrants will gather in the parking lot of Santini Marina Plaza between 8:30 and 9 a.m., and the parade will begin promptly at 10 a.m., marching north on Estero Boulevard one mile to the Church of the Ascension parking lot.
The parade lasts approximately one hour and will conclude at 11 a.m. Traffic will be stopped on Estero Boulevard between 9:45 and 11 a.m.with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, so residents and visitors should plan ahead if they need to leave the island that morning.
The parade will consist of color guards; civic, business and neighborhood groups; floats and musical bands.
Those who wish to enter the parade must contact Parade Chairman Ray Murphy for more information regarding registration and entry fees. Only pre-registered entrants will be permitted to participate in the parade.
