Live theater is a rare event on Fort Myers Beach. Over the years, various hardworking people have pulled together a show, and each one has been a gem of community theatre. That special spirit that inhabits our islanders comes through on stage.

Islanders have the brief opportunity to see another of these gems. A Christmas Carol will be presented at Chapel by the Sea on the Silver Hall stage Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at the Chapel office, $8 or two for $15. Price will be $10 at the door, $5 for children. Funds raised from ticket sales will be used in the ongoing rehab of the kitchen at the church. The kitchen is not only used by the church, but also by Community Cooperative.

Rexann Hosafros is directing the holiday favorite; Carmine Pacchino is starring as Scrooge, with Tom Crosby, Miffie Greer, Marianne Worden and Russ Carter as the ghosts. Pastor Steve is appearing as Fred, Scrooge’s nephew.
