Beach resident supports Council candidate
To the editor:
Anita Cereceda’s resume is Fort Myers Beach. She grew up here and returned after four years in Tallahassee at the Florida State University. She worked in the family business and now is the successful owner of both the Pier Peddler and Local Color in Times Square. Anita is also a homeowner on the island, so she will come to Council with a perspective of both the residents and businesses while making it a welcoming destination for our tourists.
Anita was actively involved in the incorporation movement and became our first mayor in 1995. She served on Council from 1995 to 2000 and followed that with service on the Local Planning Agency. She knows our comprehensive plan and land development code inside out. She served the Town with objectivity and fairness. She is a firm believer in the principals that became our comp plan and will be dedicated to adhering to those principals. The Town has drifted in recent years, and therefore she has become a candidate again.
Anita has been a loyal friend to me and my husband since the early days of our Town. John served with her on Council and we both knew her to be thoroughly prepared and dedicated to her position. We have major issues facing the town right now -traffic and the Seafarer’s Mall property, setbacks involving elevated pools, traffic flow in the Santini area to name just a few.
Fort Myers Beach needs Anita Cereceda on Town Council and we are fortunate she here for us again.
Vote for Anita Cereceda on March 11.
