Grace Community Church presents ‘Jerusalem Revisited’

By Staff | Apr 21, 2011

Grace Community Church will provide a free dramatic Easter presentation, “Jerusalem Revisited,” today and Friday.
Volunteer Susan Moyer said they have been offering the presentation to the public since 2002. She said it is an Easter drama that is held on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
The 45-minute moving tour will begin every 15 minutes, so individuals will have the opportunity to hear, feel, walk and see the old Jerusalem marketplace as they experience the stories of Jesus. About 150 parishioners participate in the presentation.
“The audience moves and walks through a Jerusalem marketplace as if it were 2,000 years ago,” she said. “It tells the story of Jesus’ last days and what it was like before he died and how he helped the people during that time.”
The tour will begin at the village marketplace, which has 11 shops, before it continues through six dramatic scenes that share the final days of Jesus.
Moyer said individuals can come anytime they choose between 7 p.m. -9:15 p.m. to go through the tour.
The presentation, Moyer said, usually attracts about 700 people a night.
Those who attend are encouraged to bring canned food or a box of cereal for the church food pantry.
