By Staff | Apr 5, 2011

The third annual Chix-N-Stix Ladies Fishing Tournament has turned into a series due to the high demand from lady anglers for more fun throughout the year! This is the only ladies fishing tournament of its caliber in Southwest Florida, and it is being taken to the next level with two tournaments in its series for 2011. Mark your calendars for two outstanding events both at The Joint in Cape Harbour the first is April 22-23 and the second is December 2-3, 2011.

With the cash and prize payouts for 2011 reaching over $10,000 and an entry fee of $100 for the ladies and $75 for the men there is no excuse not to come out and be a part of these huge events! The formats are the same as what made these tournaments such a success; keep the pressure low and the fun high with the heaviest bucket load of ten Ladyfish winning it. There will be a mystery fish category, a youth division and a winner for the heaviest overall Ladyfish.

Tournament Check-In will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 22. Ladies will receive their custom Chix-N-Stix lady angler tote bags stuffed with official tournament gear (hats, koozies, shirts and much more). The anglers meeting will follow at The Joint follow at 7 p.m. with great food and an open bar. The rules will be read, questions will be answered and a great time will be had by all while enjoying a live band at the courtyard.

Saturday morning, April 23, lines are in the water at 7 a.m. Teams are fishing for a bucket load of Ladyfish. Ten Ladyfish will be allowed per team with a minimum of 12 inches per fish. Anglers may fish by boat (motorized or non motorized) or by land. All teams must be back to Rum Runners at Cape Harbour by 3 p.m. with their bucket load of fish to be weighed.

The weigh station will be packed with vendors, spectators, media and anglers. It opens at 2 p.m. and will remain open until 4 p.m. The final weights will be determined by the official CNS Weigh Master. All Ladyfish caught and brought back to the dock will be sold to a local fish house with monies donated to Oasis Charter School. No cheating will be tolerated!

Following a brief break after the weigh station, the awards dinner will begin at 7 p.m. back at The Joint. Food, an open bar and live music will again be enjoyed. The winner’s of the first of the two 2011 Chix-N-Stix Ladies Tournament Series Presented by Diversified Yacht Services will be determined. Cash, prizes and trophies will be provided to the top 3 teams and a random 9th place team will be awarded giving all teams a chance to win.

As the teams participating thus far have come to love, the fun divisions will also be awarded. These divisions are what truly bring the lady angler’s spirits out. Some of the fun categories are as follows: “Team that Traveled the Furthest”, “Most Unique Team Name”, “Team with the Most Ladies”, “Team with the Most Spirit”, “Team of the Year” and “Dirtiest Team of the Year” just to name a few.
