To the editor:

I knew Scott Janke and had direct dealings with him when he was the City Manager of Marathon, Fla.

Most people do not understand, the City Manager works for the City Council.

That is something, while in Marathon as City Manager, Scott did not understand either.

At the end, he was given a choice to resign or be fired.

Many of us can not believe your (town’s) “Vetting Process” did not learn the

truth about Scott.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach should have never hired him in the first place.
