Bonita church offers free concert about tijuana blues

By Staff | Jul 29, 2009

First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs will host a free concert featuring band leader and trumpet player Charly Raymond on Friday, August 7, at 7:00 p.m. No tickets are needed.

Raymond, along with his band, The Top Brass, has recreated the sound of the Tijuana Brass and present it on stage as a fun trip back to the 60’s.

Charly Raymond has been a featured entertainer on most major cruise lines worldwide, and has appeared in many Performing Arts Centers throughout his home state of Florida. A lifelong fan of Herb Alpert, he studied trumpet in New York City with the famous Carmine Caruso, who just happened to also be Herb Alpert’s teacher. Charly Raymond has been compared to trumpet greats such as Harry James, Clyde McCoy, Al Hirt and Doc Severinsen.

This concert is open to the community, so bring your friends and neighbors! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. A free will offering will be taken.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 9751 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. Website: www.fpcbonita.org. Concert line: 239-992-3410.
