Red light cameras installed at Colonial/Summerlin

By Staff | Jul 20, 2009

Lee County has installed a series of cameras at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Summerlin Road. The purpose of the cameras is to document individual vehicles that run the red traffic signal. The cameras capture several pictures of the vehicle and the vehicle license plate on any vehicle that enters the intersection after the traffic signal has changed to red. The system is automated and will work through the LeeWay Service Center. The County will have the ability to issue warning letters and/or uniform traffic citations to anyone that violates the traffic signal control.

If you have questions about the project, please contact Paul Wingard with Lee County Department of Transportation at wingarpw@leegov.com or phone (239) 533-8545 or LeeWay Service Center at 931-0100.
