Cape police to give free Slurpees as part of national youth program
Cape Coral police have initiated a citywide search — to show thanks to young residents with good in their hearts.
Local officers will participate in the nationwide “Operation Chill,” a summerlong program offering “tickets” for free 7-Eleven Slurpees to children who perform helpful or good deeds, according to city spokesperson Connie Barron.
The department will participate for the ninth year since the program began in 1996.
Officers have 500 coupons to distribute, Barron said.
More than 10 million coupons have been distributed across the United States since the program began.
