Senior center to host health, wellness seminar

By Staff | Jun 23, 2009

The Tony Rotino Senior Center is hosting a free health and wellness seminar Wednesday with Roy Williams, an expert of natural health and a motivational speaker.
Williams, founder and chief executive officer of Nutritional Healthcare, will discuss various natural treatments for residents with chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, diabetes or high blood pressure.
The program begins at 11:30 a.m. at the center at 5817 Driftwood Parkway.
“He is going to give a presentation on keeping seniors healthy,” said Coby Palmer, a staff member at the center. “His motto is ‘Make America healthy one person at a time.'”
The seminar is free for anyone in the community interested in hearing information about natural supplements. Reservations are not required.
Palmer said the center is not sure how many people will attend the seminar.
Occasionally, the Tony Rotino Senior Center organizes health seminars for seniors in the community.
“We partner with a lot of different organizations and people throughout the city to offer free seminars to seniors,” said Palmer. “We try to give them every avenue they can to have health awareness.”
Williams has made more than 500 television appearances and conducted 1,000 radio interviews throughout his career. In 1999 he founded NEWtritional Health, and he currently has 37 patents pending on health products used worldwide.
Williams bases his philosophy on how the use of man-made synthetic pharmaceuticals is more harmful than natural remedies, and he distributes healthy combo packages to assist certain parts of the body.
Some of his published articles include “The Benefits of Alfalfa,” “Carb Blockers” and “Boosting The Child’s Immune System.”
