A man wanted by Lee County authorities for skipping out on a child molestation charge two years ago has been arrested in Tennessee.
The United States Marshals Southwest Florida Regional Task Force, consisting of detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and United States Marshals Office, received information that Francisco Juan, 28, was living in Knoxville. A joint investigation with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) office in Tampa also revealed that Juan had assumed his deceased brother’s name as an alias, officials said.
The investigation revealed the fugitive resided at 2459 Cecil Avenue in Knoxville. The information was forwarded to the United States Marshals Service in Knoxville. Agents there picked up the investigation and Francisco Juan was located and arrested without incident at approximately 8:30 a.m. on June 3.
Juan was scheduled to appear in court on the molestation charge in April 2007 when officials say he fled Lee County.
Juan also has an I.C.E. Deportation Order that will deport him back to his home country of Guatemala upon the closure of the molestation case, officials said.
