Re-Nourishment is Failing. Just 35 percent!!!

The signatures on easements belonging to PRIVATE property owners total only 35 percent as of May 14.

On May 14, Lee County reported that they had easements signed by all owners totalling 48.2 percent with another 14 days left for easement withdrawals.

But when you count only the private property owners, you have just 35 percent. The other 13 percent belongs to the properties owned by the county and the Town of Fort Myers Beach that were automatically voted 10 years ago.

Renourishment is sinking.

With the last 14 days of easements rescinded, it is highly likely that the 35 percent support by private owners will drop more!

Mayor Kiker has said that the people will decide renourishment and he’s right.

After 10 years of holding the polls open and gathering easements, it’s time to close the polls and count the final tally on May 29 and STOP!

It’s time to put the town manager and his folks back to work on productive issues like uninterrupted water supply, streets, storm water management and even traffic management..etc. The county owns Estero Boulevard, the worst road rating by Lee County!
