The Cape Coral motorcycle patrol officer injured in a crash on Hancock Bridge Parkway this afternoon has been identified as Damien Garcia, 25.
His condition is critical, officials said late Tuesday.
The officer was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert patient following the crash at Hancock Bridge Parkway and Cultural Park Boulevard at approximately 3:17 p.m., according to city spokesperson Connie Barron.
Garcia has been with Cape Police Department since 2006.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, Barron said.
