Conservancy of Southwest Florida Web site earns international award

By Staff | Jun 2, 2009

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida Web site has earned a Gold Award in the prestigious 2009 Horizon Interactive Awards, which recognize international excellence in interactive media production.

The Conservancy site, “http://www.conservancy.org”>www.conservancy.org, earned the award in the public service/nonprofit category. The newly redesigned Web site was launched in October 2008 and was a collaboration between the Conservancy and Cool Blue Interactive. The goal of the redesign was to make it easier for the public to learn about the Conservancy mission and important regional environmental issues. The site features a new layout, changing content, an events calendar, new online registration for events and opportunities to sign-up for e-mail notices and legislative alerts.

The Horizon Interactive Awards received more than 2,000 entries from nearly all 50 states and 32 countries. The judging process involves a Horizon Interactive Awards advisory panel, end-user panel and a worldwide panel of judges consisting of industry professionals. Winning entries are dubbed the “best of the best” in the interactive media industry. Additional information is available at www.horizoninteractiveawards.com.
