Boil Water Notice has been rescinded
The precautionary boil water notice for all of Estero Island has been rescinded as of 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, according to the Lee County Health Department.
The rescission comes after a satisfactory completion of bacteriological surveys showing the water is now safe to drink.
Residents of Fort Myers Beach awoke without water Thursday, April 16, due to a massive main water line break in the Times Square area.
The break happened sometime during the evening of Wednesday, April 15 and a complete water shutoff was ordered early Thursday morning.
The main line break in the Times Square area was repaired by the town’s public works department Thursday.
