By Staff | Apr 10, 2009

At 5:07 a.m. Friday, April 10, Florida deputy Stephen Wright responded to a reported traffic crash at 4009 Estero Blvd. The vehicle – a brownish gold Dodge Intrepid – struck a fence located on the property of 103 Gulf Island Drive and then struck a parked vehicle before crumbling the staircase and understructure of Richard and Janet Hickman’s home at 4009 Estero.

At the time of the accident, a witness stated he had seen three hispanic males running from the area towards the beach. The witness said he observed one chucnky and two other skinny males, but could not provide any other information nor did he see which was the driver of the vehicle.

A search of the area was done by responding units but the assailants were not located. The vehicle was towed by AFA Towing.

While conducting the investigation, Deputy Wright recovered a cell phone from the vehicle. At roughly 7:30 a.m., Lee County Sheriff’s Office Delty District was dispatched to 26777 Stardust Drive in Bonita Springs where resident Marta Alvarado reported a stolen vehicle which fit the description of the abandoned vehicle.
