Pilot Club annual fashion show deemed a success

By Staff | Apr 7, 2009

Joelle Robles and Julie Harris, both scholarship students at Florida Gulf Coast University, spoke to the attendees on how the Pilot Club and the Gresham-Kite Scholarship house has enriched their college experience.

Students are chosen in cooperation with the Southern Scholarship Association and are given free housing while maintaining a 3.0 average at FGCU.

The event raised over $2,500 that will be used for the FGCU house as well as other Pilot projects. Locally, the club supports BrainMinder and Butterfly Garden Programs at Beach School, Keep Lee County Beautiful, Beach Library Senior programs, Beach Historic Society, Ostego Bay camp scholarships and Pilot International Foundation scholarships.

Recently the Club donated $5,000 to the Project Lifesaver Program of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.

The Pilot Club meets monthly for a dinner and business meeting. For information on activities and membership please contact President Donna Raymond at 463-1839
