Caper Beach Club wins commercial beautification for March
The Caper Beach Club at 2810 Estero Blvd. recently received March’s Beautification Recognition award in the commercial division by the Town of Fort Myers Beach, according to Lois Poff, administrative assistant for the Community Development Department.
Caper Beach Club was one of the first participants in the town’s streetscape program in 2003 and again in 2005. Hurricane Charley destroyed many of their royal palm trees. The club replanted more and they are now meticulously groomed and plentiful, achieving a beautiful and harmonious streetscape, according to Poff.
“Congratulations to Caper Beach Club for their ongoing efforts in landscape enhancements,” she said.
Janice Degnan, manager of Caper Beach, said the club purchased about 35 trees from the town’s annual 1/2 price sale in celebration of National Arbor Day two years ago. The Estero Island Garden Club and Town Hall collaborate on the sale each year.
“Our owners are thrilled,” said Degnan. “We take a lot of pride in the property.”
