North Fort Myers man charged in jewelry theft
A North Fort Myers man has been arrested in the theft of $30,000 worth of jewelry from the Edison Mall.
The Fort Myers Police Department charged Steven Krusel, 41, of 1596 Tamiami Trail #19 with grand theft.
He is accused of stealing 11 diamond bracelets, three wedding bands and three diamond bangle bracelets from Grace Jewelers on Monday, Jan. 19, police said.
Surveillance video caught the crime on tape.
Detectives copied photos from the footage, which revealed the identity of the suspect, according to police. The images were emailed to patrol officers throughout the department. FMPD officers ultimately located Krusel and, with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested.
