Police are searching for two men from an attempted burglary of a north Cape Coral home Friday evening.
The men, who are described as a white male and a Hispanic male in their late 20s, broke through the front window of a home in the 2600 block of Northwest 11th Terrace at about 6 p.m., but fled after discovering a female resident was in the home, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers coordinator Trish Routte.
The men broke the window after one of them knocked on the door and the resident did not answer, the victim reportedly told police. After they became aware of the resident’s presence, the men fled eastbound.
One man is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, who wore jeans and a light colored sweatshirt during the incident. The other is a Hispanic male who wore jeans and a jean jacket with a red bandanna on his head, police said.
The resident’s husband told police that on Thursday, a suspicious man came to the house attempting to sell magazine subscriptions for a school internship. When the husband refused to give him money, the man was irritated and “mumbled something incoherent while walking away.”
Police do not know if the incidents are related.
