Windsor opens information center

By Staff | Dec 11, 2008

The Windsor of Cape Coral Assisted Living and Memory Care community held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday for its new information center, a one-stop location for residents to learn about what the new facility has to offer.
According to Dottie Reed, residence director for the assisted living center, Windsor is slated to open on the first or second week of August. Currently, the center is under construction at 831 Santa Barbara Blvd.
The information center is located at 1031 Santa Barbara Blvd., Suite 11. It will serve as a place for residents to meet the staff, learn about the community and select an apartment.
“We will interview them and make sure these are services they need,” said Reed. “It makes sure they are ready.”
Prospective residents can peruse and reserve one of the Windsor’s seven apartment layouts complete with a full kitchenette, carpeting throughout and an emergency call system. Apartments also include utilities, housekeeping services, routine maintenance, 24-hour access to staff and a number of daily activities.
After choosing an apartment, future residents will put down a community deposit and later participate in informational sessions. Later next year some of the center’s early founders will be taken on a hard hat tour of the construction zone.
Although deposits are $2,500 to live at Windsor, the center is offering a limited amount of founder fee deposits for $1,750. Resident applications are also now being accepted.
“After the first limited amount, they will all pay $2,500,” said Reed. “I would suggest people want to make that commitment because there are a limited amount of those founding club specials.”
Every resident receives a health assessment upon entering the living center to determine individualized assistance with medications, specialized diets or help with ambulation.
The Windsor also has a number of amenities including a whirlpool spa, elegant dining room, library and game room.
