Book Discussion – Greg Mortensons “Three Cups of Tea,” 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.
2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 – a 1993 expedition to climb K2 in honor of his sister Christa, who had died of epilepsy at 23, Mortenson became lost and was near death. He staggered into a remote mountain village in Pakistan where the villagers assisted his recovery. Out of gratitude, Mortenson promised to build a school for the children who were scratching lessons in the dirt.
Wii bowling for seniors
10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 – Have fun bowling on the big screen with the Wii gaming system! Registration is required.
Computer help walk-in clinic
10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 – This walk-in clinic is for anyone who needs help using web browsing tools or features and has questions. Staff members will be on-hand to answer questions and provide resources to guide practice. Available on a first come, first served basis.
Family
Baby-parent rhyme time: Crawlers: 10 a.m. Mondays, Dec. 1 and 8. Walkers: 11 a.m. Mondays, Dec. 1 and 8.
Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby. These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants. Registration is required.
Toddler Storytime: 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 2 and 9, and 10 a.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 3 and 10.
Children two years old and their caregivers participate in song, fingerplays and short stories. The success of this age group depends on adult participation and encouragement. Toddler storytime lasts approximately 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Family Storytime is 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 3 and 10.
This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.
English-Spanish Family Storytime is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
Enjoy a special storytime in English and Spanish with family and friends.
Holiday Storytime Spectacular is 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22.
Drop in anytime during the two-hour special event to hear friends from around the community read holiday stories.
Kids
Preschool Storytime is 11 a.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 2 and 9.
Preschoolers (ages three to five) attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Kids Read Down Fines at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading.
A Beary Merry Tea Party is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15. Preschoolers, bring your teddy bears to the library and join us for stories, songs, a tea party, and a beary beary good time. Dress in fancy clothes if you like. For ages two through five. Registration is required.
Wrap It Up at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. Design and create holiday cards and wrapping paper. For grades K through 5. Registration is required.
Knot Tying for Kids is at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29. For grades three through five. Registration is required.
Teens
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Nintendo Wii Gaming at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Registration required.
Bags and Tags, 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 – Have a gift to give and nothing to wrap it in? Come make a cute gift bag and gift tag to make your gift complete. Supplies provided. Registration is required.
Mixed Media Mania is at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30. Create a one of a kind masterpiece. Registration is required.
