Festive church meet open to all

Since members and friends of the Beach Unit of United Methodist Women are inviting a special speaker and preparing a festive luncheon, they will welcome to their Dec. 4 meeting all who are interested in the mission emphasis of the organization. Registration and fellowship hosted by Lu Burkell and Pat Simon will begin at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church  on Thursday, Dec. 4. No need to be a member of the church in order to attend.

At 10:30 a.m.,  co-president Mildred Howarter will call the meeting to order.  After a brief business meeting, Lisa Grinter will introduce the program. A Child Development Center executive will speak regarding what is in store for Brightest Horizons, a ministry to which the women and the church give some support.  All those attending Thursday’s meeting are invited to bring unwrapped either new clothing or toys or money for a love offering for Brightest Horizons.

Following the program, all are invited to share food and fellowship. Three families are providing ham and rolls for the occasion. All other women are invited to bring a salad or favorite dish.

Reservations are not essential but an approximate count of those planning to attend will help those providing the food.  Call Howarter at 437-9790 or Grinter at 481-2531or the church secretary at 463-9656.
