By Staff | Apr 5, 2008

Members of the Cape Coral Police Department’s Vice Intelligence Narcotics unit, Street Crimes unit and patrol officers busted what they say was a marijuana grow house Thursday, leading to the arrest of two residents.

The bust was the third “grow house” discovery in Cape Coral this year, said police spokesperson Dyan Lee.

While executing a search warrant at 1207 N.W. 21st Avenue, police discovered 107 marijuana plants — a total of 19.5 pounds of cannabis — in a southern area of the home which was outfitted to grow marijuana, police reported.

Yohalvis Molina Alfonso, 26, and Alain Alejandre Alfonso, 23, each were charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana. Alain was additionally charged with possession of narcotic equipment. The marijuana had at an estimated street value of $150,000, Lee said.
