Weather you agree or disagree with any of the coments made here dosn't make you a bad person. It is nice to have a forum where you can express your veiws either way. Hats off to the Observer, unlike the other so called cummunity sand paper, comments are welcome with out a dictator editor getting in the last word every time,as a matter of a fact if you visit that other paper's web site there is no interaction for readers to express them selfs. It is also nice to see that the Observer is reporting objectivly about recent events involving the council unlike other said paper who has a council member on staff and her spose the production manager.Keep up the good work and thank you for serving your readers and not just your personal agendas!

What is the fire dept doing with the millions of extra taxpayer dollars each year that they put in reserve? Its uncalled for. That's our money, reduce our tax rate NOW, we need it in this economy, and especially with all our millions you take each year and put in 'reserve' for what?

YES, Absolutely, much lower. The only people that would vote no are the personel that are employed by us taxpayers.

It is totally out of line. We have 3 huge stations and no fires in the town to speak of. All we need is some EMT personel to run 2 small stations. We've turned into the personel and budget of a major city fire dept, with the smallest year round residence of any community in florida. The fire chief and the others need to realize they are highly overpaided as public servants, and taking advantage of our taxpayer base. This is so crazy that we are putting up with it. There should be a revolt.
