Weather you agree or disagree with any of the coments made here dosn't make you a bad person. It is nice to have a forum where you can express your veiws either way. Hats off to the Observer, unlike the other so called cummunity sand paper, comments are welcome with out a dictator editor getting in the last word every time,as a matter of a fact if you visit that other paper's web site there is no interaction for readers to express them selfs. It is also nice to see that the Observer is reporting objectivly about recent events involving the council unlike other said paper who has a council member on staff and her spose the production manager.Keep up the good work and thank you for serving your readers and not just your personal agendas!
That's because 99% of the country only got Scott's Martyr story. Luckily we know better. Ask any bartender on the island about Scott. If you ever saw him drunk you'd know we are better off without him. He left his landlord hanging even though WE paid him a housing allowance. Where did that money go?? We paid him over $10,000 a month. Yet he declared bankruptcy the same day Anabela's publicist. "leaked/posted" the story on AINews. He spent that weekend drinking heavily at south end bars, we saw him at the movie pub. Then he blew off the Monday council meeting. COINCIDENCE???? He was imploding anyway. He wrote "the martyr town manager script" to save his own butt. I'm proud of the council for not buying into it.
99% of the entire country thinks this was a terrible thing that the council did. Yet, I find it hard to believe 60% on this poll say Yes??, it was ok to fire him because his wife was involved in an adult business. The whole thing is NONE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL'S BUSINESS. Since when did WE THE PEOPLE elect them to judge other people's personal life, or their partners life and personal affairs. Smells like time for unincoporation of this town government. They need to stop their games against a good town manager and businesses in the community. They have became very anti-small business, and only favor giant corporations. I would hate to think how they treat their friends that differ from them.
To justify this mans termination simply states to the rest of the planet that this corner of the wold has yet to become mature enough to deal with reality.How sad! Please grow up people.Shouldn't our leaders be mature enough to make policy and communicate on a grown up level to the point where what one's spouse does dosn't affect the outcome! PLEASE GROW UP!!
