Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Fest: March 10, 11
It’s almost time for the beach’s biggest bash of the year! Here’s a schedule of events for the 60th Annual Fort Myers Beach Lions Club Shrimp Festival. Check back next week for a full story in the Bulletin on all the fun to be had!
Saturday, March 3: Free Kids 1 Mile Race. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.at the Gulf Beach Road Access, across from Topps. Please email Liam at liamcf@leeschools.net for a registration flyer.
Saturday, March 10:
-9 a.m., Shrimp Run 5K. Register online at active.com, search for The Shrimp Run 5K. Registration is $35 a person of $25 per person in a team of five or more. Race begins and ends at Doc Ford’s, 708 Fisherman’s Wharf.
-10 a.m. To noon, Shrimp Parade. Parade will begin at the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School and end at Lynn Hall Memorial Park.
-10 a.m. To 6 p.m., Pink Gold Shrimp Boil by the Lions in Lynn Hall Park. Dinners are $13 each.
-10 a.m to 6 p.m., Art Fair and Food Expo at Lynn Hall Park. More than 100 vendors will be selling unique, hand crafted items and food. Lions will sell official festival gear.
-1 to 2 p.m.: Queens pageant. Judges choose Shrimp Fest Queen, runners up, Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic, and contestants pick their Miss Congeniality. Held at Lynn Hall Park.
Sunday, March 11:
-10 a.m. To 6 p.m., Pink Gold Shrimp Boil by the Lions in Lynn Hall Memorial Park. Dinners are $13 each.
-10 a.m to 6 p.m., Art Fair and Food Expo at Lynn Hall Park. More than 100 vendors will be selling unique, hand crafted items and food. Lions will sell official festival gear.
-1 to 2 p.m., Shrimp Eating Contest. Up to 10 sponsored contestanrs will compete to eat as many pounds of cooked and peeled shrimp as possible in 5 minutes. Winner will be the one who eats the most; $1 donations from the crowd can win another contestant a People’s Choice. Held at Lynn Hall Park.
