09.15.17 Town Manager Afternoon Update

September 15, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

From Roger Hernstadt, Fort Myers Beach Town Manager:

As of Friday, Sept. 15, the September 11 Precautionary Boil Water Notice is hereby rescinded for Fort Myers Beach following the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing the water is safe to drink. If you have any questions, please call Beach Water at (239) 463-9914. Again, the precautionary boil water notice is rescinded.

Electric power restoration continues on Fort Myers Beach however it is not on a block by block basis. Therefore you may have power but the adjacent street may not. If your power is on, please reach out to your neighbors without power to offer them assistance you may have available. If you have a need or something to loan, please let us know at 765-0202.

Storm debris will be collected separately from your normal household trash and recycling so please keep it in separate piles: garbage, yard waste, building debris, appliances and other wastes. PLEASE note that storm debris should be placed at the curb and NOT in the roadway. Placing debris in the roadway creates a hazard for traffic and emergency responders. You can visit leegov.com/solidwaste/post-hurricane-debris-action-guidelines for specific details and more information.
