Use Gas Buddy to find fuel

September 14, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Fuel has been a rare find in Lee County after Hurricane Irma. More and more stations are getting refilled this week, however.

Sometimes lines are long to get to the pump as people wait to fill up not only their vehicles but also generators. Half of the county is still without power.

Gas Buddy can help find out what stations have fuel and/or power. It's an app, but also has an online site and a tracker to show a map of local stations and statuses about fuel.

It's always a good idea to call ahead to check before you drive.

7-Eleven at 7120 Estero Boulevard has fuel and power; 7-Eleven at 3051 Estero Boulevard has fuel but no power.

Go to tracker.gasbuddy.com to find out the status of the nearest gas stations.

According to the website, 39 percent of gas stations in the Fort Myers-Naples area are still without fuel, but that number has been decreasing as fuel is replenished.
