Sewer main repair on Cape Coral Parkway will result in lane closures

By Staff | May 20, 2017

A contractor for the city of Cape Coral will be making repairs to a broken sewer main located in the eastbound lanes at 808 Cape Coral Parkway near Skyline Boulevard. The project requires an “open cut” in the roadway to repair and replace sections of damaged pipe, which is allowing a substantial amount of groundwater to enter the City’s sanitary sewer system. Work will begin on Monday, May 22, and continue through June.

The project will result in lane closures on Cape Coral Parkway.

Road closures will begin Tuesday, May 30. The two outside lanes of eastbound Cape Coral Parkway, and the southbound shoulder of Skyline Boulevard will be closed to traffic during construction. The eastbound sidewalk along Cape Coral Parkway also will be closed to pedestrians and bicycles from SW 11th Court east to Skyline Boulevard.

All efforts to minimize the inconvenience to the public will be taken; however, the lane closures are necessary for the safety of the traveling public and construction personnel. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays or inconvenience.
