Helping Hands -- volunteers needed for upcoming FMB events

As representatives for the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce encourage, "please volunteer for the 11th annual Pirate Festival and the 30th annual American Sandsculpting Championship coming up!"

The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce is seeking the help of the public both for the upcoming 11th annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival, as well as the 30th annual Fort Myers Beach Sandsculpting Festival.

Volunteers are needed for various tasks at both events that include setting up, cleaning up, entry, selling water and soda, and trash patrol.

Both morning and afternoon shifts are available. Free water and event entry for volunteers are offered at both events. In addition, Sandsculpting volunteers receive lunch and a free commemorative T-shirt.

Fort Myers Beach Pirate Fest

on Old San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers Beach

Named the No. 2 Pirate Festival in the Country by USA Today, this family-friendly event attracts thousands of people that come to enjoy the pirate bazaar, themed live music and performances, exhilarating live ship battles, children's activities and the jolly pub quest (21+ event).

Pirates and landlubbers both young and old are sure to walk away with memories to treasure.

Fair winds, me mateys, and see ye thar Tharrr's a $5 donation for adult entry (ages 12+).

Fort Myers Beach Sandsculpting Festival

at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, Fort Myers Beach

Ready for a family fun time of sand, sun, and seafood? The 30th annual American Sand Sculpting Championship is returning with even more activities, more vendors, and more sculptures to see this year.
