August 3, 2016
Melissa Schneider - Editor (mschneider@breezenewspapers.com) , Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Setting sail along the shores of Fort Myers Beach is a pirate ship manned by a ghostly crew, swarmed with ghosts, ghouls and swash-buckling cavaliers who have met their imminent doom atop the ghastly waves of fright and fear. These harrowed souls forever search for fun and excitement during the next Salty Sam's Ghostly Pirate Cruise aboard the Pieces of Eight pirate ship, departing the docks of Salty Sam's Waterfront Adventures, 2500 Main St., Saturday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Red Headed Witches Costume Shop of Cape Coral.

All those hallowed horrors wishing to board this vessel of the undead are encouraged to dress as a lost soul of the sea zombie pirates, undead mermaids, killer captains and the like.

And, with only a handful of spots remaining, this ghost-themed cruise has been brought back from the dead by popular demand the first cruise sold out of seats within a matter of days.

"This will be our second Ghost Ship Cruise on the Pirate Ship. The first one sold out quickly, so we had to do it again it was a huge success! Everyone had a great time and got really into the costumes," said RJ Snider, marketing director for Salty Sam's.

For those who weren't (un)fortunate enough to board this deadly vessel of lost souls, during the ghost-themed pirate trip, look forward to "plenty of dancing, drinking, ghostly pirate games, and get a chance to win some prizes during the costume contest," RJ?said.

Although many of the Pieces of Eight pirate ship cruises are intended for children and fans of all ages, this particular sail is for those 21 and up, and the cost to participate is $25 per soul. Boarding starts at 6:30 p.m., setting sail at 7.

If you were too late in getting out of your grave fast enough to make it aboard, don't worry; Salty Sam's plans to host these ghostly pirate cruises on a monthly basis.

"With such a great turnout, we would like to host at least one themed cruise per month," RJ?said. "Stay tuned for a zombie cruise, Viking cruise, and possible a Game of Thrones cruise in the works!"

Anytime you board this haunted vessel, you're encouraged to dress your best, as you never know who (or what) will be aboard with gifts and prizes galore "We definitely encourage people to dress up in their best ghostly costume. There is a chance to win prizes for best dressed," RJ?said. "Belly up to the bar for some savory spirits, and dance the night away as you sail the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The more you participate, the more fun it is!"
