Ruth B Abraham

July 28, 2016
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Mrs. Ruth B. Abraham, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 16 with all her family at her side after suddenly suffering a massive stroke four days prior to her passing.

Ruth and her husband of 69 years, Paul T. Abraham, have been residents of Fort Myers Beach since the early 1970s. Retiring at the age of 50, after selling a successful restaurant and liquor store business in Dresden, N.Y., they came to their favorite place in the sun where they had always vacationed. Very hard workers and believers in giving back, Ruth and Paul were always active participants in their church and Kiwanis.

Ruth was the mother of four children, Pam, Paula, Cathy and Tom; grandmother to seven grandchildren, Derek, Kristen, Adam, Daniel, Michael, Elisabeth and Robin; and great grandmother to Jacob, Trinity, Kendall, and Madden. She loved her sons-in-law Richard and Michael and her daughter-in-law Lori. She was adored by all her flock and will be greatly missed.

A very savvy business woman and equal partner with Paul in their businesses, she was also the best cook, the best baker and the best caretaker anyone could ask for. Unlike many Moms of her generation, she loved football and basketball and would enthusiastically critique teams, players and coaches with her kids and grandkids. Ruth was always well informed and current about almost everything. She loved to use her IPad and computer to keep up with the news, to shop online and email her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, 801 Roeder Road, Suite 650, Silver Springs, MD 20910 and directed to McGill Lectureship Anesthesiology FundSPF 44032.
