Q: Tell us about how and why your business landed on Fort Myers Beach.

A: "I made a trip three years ago from Germany to find a location here in Florida. My real estate manager and I found this little restaurant on Fort Myers Beach and I fell in love, knowing I could live my dream of seeing my Lehne Burger start to grow up."

Q: With burgers in mind, what type of cooking surface is best? And why?

A: "The lava rocks open-flame grill. It makes your burger taste smoked."

Q: A huge key to a good burger lies with the bun. How much experimenting have you done with your choice of bread?

A: "Yes, that's true. I checked around about 25 brands to get the perfect bun together."

Q: How many different toppings do you offer?

A: "With our design-your-own burger approach, you are able to create 350 different kinds."

Q: You have an open grill within view, so customers can watch you cook. How is this advantageous? How is it a negative?

A: "The people love that they can see what we do and they feel good to know what's going on in the kitchen. There is no negative. They can also see how we create the burger from the beginning to the table."

Q: How do you combat the growing trend toward the vegan lifestyle?

A: "We are first place on the beach to serve gluten-free and we have a couple of vegan options. We are always up to date with trends and we talk with customers to find good ideas for the next menu update."

Q: Have you considered franchising Lehne Burger? Or at least a second location?

A: "Yes - both. I start working on it four months ago."
