The Beached Whale kills off all live music

March 1, 2016

Much to the dismay of many readers and island music lovers, the Beached Whale recently cancelled all of its live entertainment throughout the week, with its last live performance Saturday evening. According to Nick Fischer, member of the Beached Whale's management team, the cancellations were based on "a decision of income."

Whether or not the live music will return, either during the current season or sometime after, is still up for debate.

The establishment is/was known as one of the north-end hot spots for live and local music throughout the week, almost on a daily basis. Some of its many weekly performers included Soapy Tuna and 10,000 Views.

With the loss of the Whale gigs, other local spots you can catch these two talented groups include the Lani Kai, The Buddha, Ralph's Place, Paradise Tiki Hut and Catch 22. Soapy also performs at Jack's Bait Shack every Thursday night at 10 p.m.

For a complete list of upcoming shows, find both bands' Facebook pages, and visit 10000ViewsBand.com and SoapyTuna.com.
