Known as "The World's Greatest Pink Floyd Show," Brit Floyd returned to Southwest Florida during its Space and Time World Tour last week at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, and did just that providing the locals with a phenomenal performance that one could truly consider worthy of a Pink Floyd show.

Traveling back and forth through decades of Pink Floyd's greatest hits and others you don't hear on the radio every hour guests of the show were taken on an amazing musical journey that not only featured the music of Pink Floyd, but the sights and other sounds that pushed it beyond just another rock concert, making it a true musical experience.

Concert-goers traveled through an amazing, five-decade-long journey of Pink Floyd during the performance, beginning with the band's creation in 1965 right through to the release of its latest album, "The Endless River." It featured music from all of the group's biggest albums, including "Dark Side of the Moon," "Wish You Were Here," "Animals," "The Wall" and "The Division Bell," and a host of other musical surprises and revelations.

The show featured a collection of two long sets, followed by a seven-song (yes, SEVEN-song) encore and several standing ovations in between. Opening with "Speak to Me," songs included "Breathe," "On the Run," "Time," "The Great Gig in the Sky," "Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-5)," "See Emily Play," "The Happiest Parts of Our Lives (Pt. 1 and 2)," Another Brick in the Wall (Pt. 2)," "Keep Talking,"?"Sheep," "One of These Days," "Money," "Have a Cigar," "Wish You Were Here," "The Final Cut"?and "Comfortably Numb." The extended encore featured "The Show Must Go On," "In the Flesh," "Run Like Hell," "Waiting for the Worms," "Stop," "The Trial"?and "Outside the Wall."

Pair all of this time-traveling rock music with spectacular laser lights, LED displays, animations and even costumed numbers and you have the recipe for one hell of a good time. If you've somehow managed to miss this group's shows the last few times it's come to town, put it on your to-do list during the next local stop.

Brit Floyd lead vocalist, guitarist and musical director Damian Darlington said, "The audience reaction has been phenomenal. Absolutely amazing everywhere. Thank you to everyone who came to see the show!"

Several islanders made it to the recent performance, including Mike "Popeye" Dearden, who managed to meet the band members face-to-face at their merch table shortly after the show. The musicians kindly signed his acoustic guitar that he plans to auction/raffle off for his next Popeyepalooza benefit next year.
