To the editor:
I have been stewing for a couple of years about the rusty condition of the screen on the cage on the bridge, which is on the south end of the beach.
I have seen many instances where the bridge is being repainted or repaired, but no one ever thinks to paint the rusty screen on the cage where the person who is in charge of raising and lowering the drawbridge sits (or used to sit).
Every motorist leaving the island on the south end can see this eyesore, which I believe maybe could be rectified by spray painting with a couple of $10 rattle cans of paint.
Entrances and exits from the island should be one of the first places for beautification efforts.
